Skydiving 101 – Tandem Freefalling Skydiving 101 – Tandem Freefalling Are you ready for the biggest rush in your life - the rush you will be telling everyone for the rest of your years? Today is the ultimate challenge as TTD invites you to step aboard a perfectly good plane - and then jump out! Just imagine this, you're a couple of miles above the earth and you're experiencing freefall. You jumped out of an airplane and you are experiencing the sensation of flying on a column of air! After a brief ground school, you'll be suited up and board the aircraft for a 15 minute ride to around 11,000 feet all while enjoying a beautiful birds eye view of the Bay Bridge, Chesapeake Bay and onwards toward downtown Annapolis and the Baltimore skyline. As you reach jump altitude you begin the hook up sequence, then your instructor opens the door and a rush of cool air fills the cabin of the aircraft. The adrenaline starts to pump as you place your feet on the step of the aircraft looking down over two miles, then you’re off! You feel like your flying rather than falling as the air rushes around you on a thrilling 2 mile high, 120 MPH freefall that lasts up to one minute. Then your instructor will activate your high performance parachute. You then descend slowly, enjoying a surreal view of the Maryland landscape and the Chesapeake Bay as your instructor makes slow curving turns through the sky, soaring like a bird for about an 8-15 minute parachute flight to a nice smooth landing. You’ve just taken the ultimate adventure! Details and Requirements: *You must be 18 years or older. *Your weight must be less than 230 lb. with other height and weight considerations. *You will jump the same day as your ground school with weather and other factors permitting. *Dress according to the weather of the day. If it is warm, feel free to wear shorts & a t-shirt, as you will be wearing a jump suit over your clothes for your actual jump. Please bring tennis shoes, as opposed to boots, to make your jump. Note: If due to weather, we are unable to jump on the day of the event, your credit is good for the rest of the year. After the Bay Bridge continue Route 50 East, to Route 404 East. Take Route 404 East for approx. 7 miles to a left on to Route 480 East towards Ridgely. Take a left on Route 312 North at the Mercantile Eastern Shore Bank. Follow 312 through town for approx. 1 mile and turn right on to Race Track Road. Follow Race Track road for 0.5 miles. The Airport entrance will be on your left side. Please park at the entrance. Meet the TTD representative at the white office trailer next to the main hangar.
