Cooking Class - Small Plates with Wine
Tapas, Mezze and Dim Sum. Everyone has enjoyed these well known small plates, but did you know that most cultures from around the world also do small plates. From Brazil to Thailand, small plates are central to national cuisines. So today, roll up your sleeves, put on your chef's hat and prepare to be turned into a chef as TTD invites you to join one of Baltimore’s most famous chefs, Nancy Longo, for a hands-on cooking class on “Small Plates” or international appetizers.
This Sunday afternoon, we will each learn and take on the basics of making a variety of small plate dishes from Nancy’s favorite countries. At the end of this you will be ready to impress your friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else fortunate enough to taste your special new skill.
Our hostess, Chef Nancy Longo, opened Pierpoint 20 years ago after being an instructor at Baltimore's International Culinary College. Chef Longo and Pierpoint have won awards and praise from both Zagat and Conde Nast Traveler and has been the subject of many articles in national magazines. Not only has Nancy done cooking segments on all of the local Baltimore TV and radio stations, she has also been a guest chef on the TV Food Network and the Today Show. For the past 11 years, she has been representing the Baltimore Ravens at the annual Superbowl “Taste of the NFL”.
