2009 Hawaii Inaugural
On January 20, 2009, our nation will celebrate the Inauguration of the new President of the United States. Elegant balls will be held throughout the nation's capital. One of the finest will be hosted by the Hawai'i State Society of Washington, D.C., at the elegant Mandarin Oriental Hotel, located a mile from the U.S. Capitol and the White House. The ball will feature Asian-Pacific food, an open bar, many entertainers who will be flown in from Hawai'i, and will invoke the genuine warmth of the people of Hawai'i.
Please join us at the first ever Hawai'i State Society Inaugural Ball. Come and celebrate with government, civic, and business leaders, and with other attendees who represent a broad spectrum of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Though the event is partially inspired by Senator Obama's upbringing in Hawai'i, it is purely bipartisan and does not endorse any candidate or party. Ticket prices are $200. Both the ball and the state society are purely non-profit and all revenue, in addition to $50K+ in sponsor dollars are spent purely on the event on such items as the open bar, and spectacular entertainment flown in from Hawaii.
Honorary Chairs for the event are as follows:
The Honorable Daniel K. Inouye, U.S. Senate
The Honorable Daniel K. Akaka, U.S. Senate
The Honorable Linda Lingle, Governor of Hawai'i
The Honorable Neil Abercrombie, Member of Congress
The Honorable Mazie K. Hirono, Member of Congress
