Washington Freedom is one of the premier teams in the brand new Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league in the country, playing its inaugural season. Washington Freedom stars Olympic gold metalists Abby Wambach and Cat Whitehill. Also on the team is 1999 World Cup Goalie Brianna Scurry as well as foreign stars Sonia Bompastor and Homare Sawa.
The event is the final regular season game for the Freedom played on August 8, kick-off at 7pm. The theme for that eventing is 'Women's Networking Night.' This is ideal for women in the work world and women looking to enter the work force as Shelia Johnson, GM of the Washington Mystics, and other professional women will be there to speak. Although this event may be attractive particularly to women, it is not solely for them. This event is great for YAP because it appeals to all young professionals. They will be able to hear established business persons speak. In addition, they will be able to watch a great WPS soccer match as the Freedom take on Sky Blue FC (the New York/New Jersey team). Being a new league, Women's Professional Soccer is something many may be interested in, but may not know about.
