Hi Farrah!
Welcome to the group! I'm glad to see that you have signed up for the upcoming April 25th happy hour. We are in the process of picking a place as well as planning more events. I encourage you to reach out to your friends and encourage them to join YAP and RSVP for the happy hour. My goal is to have 50 RSVPs which shouldn't be too hard since our orgnanization has over 600 members. Also if you would like to plan any events or have some ideas feel free to send me a message.

I'm planning a trip to Jamaica Hedonism Resort. I should have all the info by April for the group. Do you think that my event will get approved. By the way planning trips and events is what I do. I'm travel agent.

Well it is great that you are a travel agent! If you look at the overall YAP site, you see that we do plan cruises and other international events. If you want to open it up to all of YAP, nationwide, we would have to go through the overall YAP coordinator, but I'm sure we could get the event approved. Being a travel agent, you are a valuable asset to our organization. Other events I'm thinking of trying to start are professional networking, community service, house or boat party. If we could get more participation, I would love to charter a boat on the Potomac for the Fourth of July. We'll take things one step at a time though.
In the meantime, sign up to be an event coordinator and send in your ideas through the website. I'll be happy to see our calendar get populated with events!

Where do I sign up to become an Event Coordinator? I think the boat party sound great as well as the networking and Communittee Service. I would suggest we poll the group and ask if they want to do a boat party or ask them for any suggestions about various activities they would like to do. Lets see what everyone else think. |

Thanks for your interest. If you would like to become an event coordinator, send an email to events@yapclub.com. They can set you up to create events on the DC website. Let me know if you have any issues with this. I should be able to help the process along.
I'm thinking we can talk with members during the April happy hour and ask their opinion and encourage more members to log on to the website and participate.

I heard back from Jason and he gave me the go ahead. I would like for us to do a Boat event on the Potomac for the Fourth of July. And if we can let this event lead the way for other events for the year and beyond, that would be great. We can also include the Baltimore group if you like. Thank you for your support.

I've spoke to many companies who do events for the Fourth of July. Unfortuantely many of the boats are sold out, or prices have doubled and in some cases even tripled. I believe that if we try to instead arrange some type of house party/bbq at a volunteers house that would work. We can then pick another weekend to do a boat party. I believe we can get a great rate for music, open bar, and appetizers per person.
