Hi! I'm moving to Denver (from Michigan) in December, and am hoping to get some advice on where to live. I'd like to be within 15 minutes of downtown, but can't spend more than $800/month - studying for the bar exam and living of student loans for now...
Friends have told me that Capital Hill, Park Hill, and Highlands would be good places. I've looked online as much as I can, and am not finding much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's also the tech center (DTC) area off i-25 and Belleview. The Enclave Apartments and Cierra Crest have good deals and they are newer complexes. The residents are all young professionals.

I don't know if you have moved yet, but City Park West in another area that is next to downtown, but tends to have lower rent rates. Unfortunately the rent finder companys don't list well from the more ecentric neighborhoods. The only way to find places from those areas you mentioned is to be there, or browse listings from Denverpost.com, or craiglist.
