Short Summary:
Based on the incredible true story, The Express follows the inspirational life of college football hero Ernie Davis (Rob Brown), the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy. Following his draft by the NFL, tragedy struck the star athlete and he was never able to take the professional field. But his tale would forever change the face of professional sports.

This was the first time I paid to see a drama at the big screen since Forest Gump.  I enjoyed the movie because it showed the struggle of a black-american playing for Syracuse a segregated school and how he managed to pursue his dream and let nobody stop him.  He managed to end up in the College football hall of fame and was all american in high school and in college.

However, with all the hate going on around him he managed to win the heisman and get drafted into the NFL.  The whole country was watching as they saw the first black american win the honor making way for young black americans to pursue their dreams to join the NFL.

The reason why I wanted to watch the movie was to learn more about this guy and his struggle, and the shocking truth that he died at the age of 23 before EVER playing a game in the NFL due to lukiema.

The movie shows old footage when the team plays University of Texas and both teams get in a all out brawl on the field.  At the time Texas was extremely racist and in the stadium they threw bottles, had KKK mailed to the team while they stayed in dallas.  They really showed how TEXAS was when white people thought they ruled the world.

Truely shocking.
