This sounds weird, but I have no idea how to meet people. Okay, that isn't true really, I can meet people just fine. It's just getting said person to move from being an aquaintance, to being a friend whom I can hang out with and such. No one seems to want to.
Any suggestions would be awesome! I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I'm not a horrible person to talk to or anything, nor do I have any Issues getting out there and talking to people. I just want more than your average bar scene conversations. Oh, and speaking of that, I'm really not into the bar scene at all.

Thanks.

I seem to lack this ability as well. I'm watching this thread for useful info.

I suggest finding a cause or hobby that you have in common. Start volunteering at your favorite local charity or join a local walking club.

I've used meetup.com a lot to find others with similar interests as me. By finding people with similar interests you instantly have something to talk about and/or do together.

Hope this helps!

I'm also not great is this area, but one thing I did was invite people over for dinner.  I love to cook, but cooking for one is no fun.  So, by inviting people over I got to try some fun recipes and I initiated friendships.
