22nd Annual GrapeFest

Celebrate the 22nd Annual GrapeFest in Grapevine
Lone Star Grown, Internationally Known

Uncork the fun for the largest wine festival in the Southwest. Wine lovers and connoisseurs from across the nation will sample award-winning Texas wines at the 22 Annual GrapeFest on Sept.11, 12, 13 and 14.

 WHO: General Public

WHAT: 22nd Annual GrapeFest – Lone Star Grown, Internationally Known

WHEN: Sept. 11, 12, 13 & 14, 2008

WHERE: Grapevine, Texas – Historic Downtown Grapevine

WHY: To showcase and promote the Texas Wine Industry

Grapevine is named for the wild Mustang grapes that covered the area when settlers first arrived in 1844. GrapeFest celebrates the beloved grape in a multitude of ways – including grape stomping, grape crushing and wine tasting. A popular GrapeFest pastime is the competitive Grape Stomping Competition, where contestants competitively vie for the coveted Purple Foot Award – reminiscent of the infamous "Grape Stomping" episode from I Love Lucy.

Kick off GrapeFest at the Vintners’ Auction. You’ll definitely want to hold the "hammer price" at the Vintners’ Auction on Saturday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grapevine Concourse located at 3800 Fairway Drive in Grapevine. This live and silent auction will give you the opportunity to bid on an array of rare items and amazing packages.

Then on Sept. 11, 12, 13 & 14, make your way to People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic -- the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation featuring some of Texas’ finest wines. As the fifth largest wine-producing state in the nation, Grapevine will host the International Wine Garden, featuring wines from around the world and live music on stages located throughout Historic Downtown Grapevine.

Experience the culinary and cooking locale, featuring delectable gourmet cuisine. The tennis action never stops throughout the weekend at the GrapeFest Tennis Classic held at the Hilton DFW Lakes. And you won’t want to miss the Texas Wine Tribute black-tie gala, showcasing gourmet food and wine pairing.

Other exciting weekend activities include:

- Grapevine Winery Tasting Room Tours

- Texas Wine Tribute Dinner

- Golf Tournament

- Grape Stomp

- Culinary Pavilion

- Live Music on six stages

- Great Food

- Arts & Crafts Booths

- Carnival & Midway Games

- The GrapeFest Express Railroad

- KidZone

- Much, much more!

Admission to GrapeFest is just $8 for adults and $5 for children (ages 6-12) and seniors (62+). Admission is free for children five years and under. Admission to GrapeFest is FREE on Sept. 11 and Sept. 12 until 5 p.m. Weekend Passes are available for $18 and Souvenir Weekend Passes are $23.

A grape stomping good time awaits you at GrapeFest – an ABA 2008 Top 100 Event in North America! For more information, please call (817) 410-3185 or visit GrapevineTexasUSA.com.
