Annual Guadalupe Tubing Trip 2009

Join us for our annual Texas Tubing Trip on the Guadalupe river. We get in the river Saturday morning at approx 10:00am and tube most of the afternoon. It is also a fun camping weekend, as we campout Friday and Saturday night. You can choose to camp one or both nights, or you can just meet us Saturday morning and tube during the day.  For those wanting to make it a long weekend, a smaller group will be arriving Thursday night and will be tubing Friday late morning/early afternoon as well.  If you arrive on Friday afternoon and do not see people, it's ok, we're probably on the river!

This is a fun trip we do with all the YAP cities in Texas, so come out and meet some new people from all over the state.

This trip is weather dependent, so if the Guadalupe river is not safe because of floods, we will not go. Or if the weather is obviously going to be very bad over the weekend, we will cancel the trip. Storms in the area are very brief so even if the forecast is for rain we'll go. It's only if there is extraordinarily bad weather we'll cancel.

>> There is a new location for this year!!!  Lazy L & L has extended a warm welcome to YAP members! <<

Lazy L & L has all of the same amenities you're used to from previous years such as the sand v-ball courts, horseshoe pits, bathroom/shower facilities, on camp drop in/take out, and camp store to name a few.  In addition, each reserved site will have electric, water, picnic table, fire ring and grill (so this should cut down on your packing as we haven't had these luxuries in past years!).

RULES OF THE RIVER - http://www.wordcc.com/
This year, no additional laws or rules have been adopted in the areas on the Guadalupe River below the Guadalupe River State Park near Spring Branch all the way down to the crossing in Gruene including Canyon Lake.

bullet No Trespassing, Respect Private Property (up to $500 fine)
bullet No Littering (up to $500 fine)

You can show up at anytime and get into the campground (they don't shut the gates), so no worries if you come late. However, they stop collecting money at 1am. If you show up after 1am, you will need to go to the office, first thing in the morning, to get a wristband and a parking pass.

FINDING US

Follow the map and you shouldn't have any problems finding us.  Here are a few other ways to locate our group:

  1. When you drive in, tell the person at the gate you are with the YAP group. Our group is in the group area currently reserved are sites 91-96, so start there.
  2. If you come in at night, stop off at the volleyball court and ask around for some YAP people. There are ALWAYS people down there playing until they kick us off.
  3. We will have YAP signs on some of our cars. So worst case you can look at each car parked for a white sign with black letters that says YAP.
  4. If you get completely lost, please call my cell phone at 972-838-6021 and I will try to direct you in.
CARPOOLING
A lot of people prefer to carpool. If you wish to share a ride, or are looking for a ride, post in the "discuss in forums". People want to leave and arrive at all sorts of times though.

ARRIVAL TIMES
A few people are planning on arriving late Thursday to host. We will be in campsites 92-96, so stop by when you arrive! :-)

QUESTIONS, COMMENTS or NEED A TENT TO SLEEP IN?
Please post in the "discuss in forums" link for the event. We'll all try to answer.
