This will be my first time attending and I'm really looking forward to it! Does the $5.00 include beer or is the $5.00 for cover and it's a cash bar?

It's $5 cover which does not include drinks. Last year we did $10 for all you can drink beer. This time it is only $5 cover but you pay for your own drinks. They have beer, liquor, wine, etc....and we have a DJ for the evening too.
The place has a dance floor, a couple pool tables and a nice outdoor patio area.
This is a normal bar that we happen to have to ourselves just like any other with a full service bar with beer, drinks and such at normal bar prices for the Greenville Ave area.
It's great having an entire bar to ourselves with 250 ppl as it's just like a house party except at a public place (as it's a little difficult having over 200 ppl in a house those who were at the party 2 years ago can attest to ).

EVENT UPDATE:
Our best party of the year is almost upon us with 277 RSVPs already!!!
Our *BIG* Annual Halloween Party is this Saturday October 21st at the Green Elephant (former Home Bar where we had the party last year) from 8pm to 2am. We have the bar to ourselves and it is $5 cover at the door. We'll have a DJ, dance floor, nice outdoor patio and a costume contest later in the night.
Costume parties are a lot of fun (costume not required) and it's a fun and friendly atmosphere and quite the party. So come alone and meet a bunch of people or better yet bring a bunch of friends. This is going to be a great night!
For those looking for accomodations, the Radisson next door unfortunately was booked solid over a month ago. You can check this week if openings become available. Or find another hotel or friend's place nearby to crash at.
Please look at the map and directions carefully. The place is indiscreet in a business complex. It's on Dyer Street between Greenville Ave and I-75 on the North side. There is a small Green Elephant sign outside the bar.

Rooms are available at the Radisson! I was not able to get a discount on short notice but you are welcome to see if you can find the best deal. I got a room with 2 doubles. If someone wants to share let me know.

Also, I am going to have a preparty in my room from 6:45 until 7:45 for those wanting to hangout beforehand. And for those who'd prefer to head on over in costume together rather than alone. :)
If you got a room and want to meetup with us before heading over to the party, give me a call to find out where I am at. Or if you are not staying at the hotel and want to have a drink or two before heading over, come join us too.

The Radisson Hotel (next door to bar, see link above for info) has room openings now but the cheaper rooms are sold out (I was unable to get a group discount like last year since there is some conference or something there). So might be a good idea to find some ppl to share if you do get a room. There is also a DoubleTree Hotel nearby which I believe is cheaper but is a mile away. Russ has looked into that place.
I have a room at the Radisson and those wanting to meetup beforehand (or in the area early) we'll hang out from 6:45 to 7:45 at the Radisson (BYOB) and then head on over to the party. After the party, we'll have a post party back in my room for those wanting to hang out for awhile before going home or those who want a place to crash. It's that time of year again! This is a followup from the YAP Annual Halloween Party Event from 2006. We have our 2007 costume party this Friday night and are doing it jointly with BigDFun this year. It will be at a hotel bar (near I-75 and 635) we have reserved so that you can conveniently get a room.
