Hello all,

I'm training for the Chicago Marathon this Fall, and looking for running buddies.  If you're training for a race or simply enjoy running, please reach me so we can go for a run.

Hi There,
I ran Chicago last year. What pace do you train at?

Hello Kathy,

Please pardon the delayed response.  I was at a wedding in Chicago this past weekend.  I train at about a 7:40min/mile pace for my regular runs.  Long runs are about 8:30min/mile.  But these are flexible depending on the intensity and training load for the given week.  My goal is 7:15min/mile this fall.

Are you training for any races in particular this fall?  I train a minimum of 5 days a week, so if you'd like to go for a run, let me know.  I can also be reached at dozzyibekwe@yahoo.com   You're welcome to reach me there to discuss further.  Happy running!

Ahahaha... wow.. very impressive. I run at snail pace. My PR for a half marathon was around 9 min/miles and for a full I run around 10:30 min/mile. :O)
Is 7:15 pace good enough to qualify for Boston? :)
You will love the Chicago Marathon. It was the best marathon that I have ever run; so much crowd support and the best organization ever!

Have you booked your hotel yet? I recommend the Congress Plaza.. very close to the start and finish.

Good luck with the training.
Kathy

Hello Kathy,

I trust your summer has been most pleasant thus far.  Your're quite funny.  I don't know if you read anything by John Bingham (Race Director), but I love his words of wisdom.  I ran the Chicago Marathon last year, and agree that it is the best organized race in the world.  I had a GREAT time, and that's why I'm doing it again.  He believes that there's a race for every pace, and I do as well  Yes, 7:15/mile will qualify me for Boston next year.

I haven't booked a hotel 'cos I just moved here from Chicago about six weeks ago and I have loads of options on where to stay.  Well, since our training schedules do not agree, we may have to run off-season.  Hope to catch you at one of the events.  Take care!
