I would like to encourage everyone to consider voting for 3rd party candidates if they represent your positions on the issues. Some people are discouraged from doing so by their low poll numbers. But if people let polls influence who they vote for, people might not vote at all, which would not be good. Just my two cents.

Neil, I'd agree with you if there was a runoff but in the governor's race there is no runoff so if you vote for a third party candidate you are basically throwing away your vote. If the people considering Kinky would vote for Chris Bell instead we would get rid of Governor Perry. Chris Bell is a great candidate. See www.chrisbell.com . If only a very small percentage of those who voted for Nader in 2000 had voted instead for Gore we wouldn't have had W the last six years and our world would be so much better now. |

I would agree with Lance. Since there is no Runoff in the governor's race its better to vote for Chris Bell. Because he has a chance to win

Another fact to consider is that the Democrats and Republicans have dominated politics at all levels of government for a long, long time. We need to ask ourselves whether or not our elected representatives are doing a good enough job to promote a reduction in wasteful spending, entitlement reform, the best policies for crime-prevention, etc.
If we elected members from other political parties, it might result in a change for the better. In the business world, greater competition forces companies to become more efficient, benefiting the consumer. Maybe the same concept could apply to government. |

If you want to start paying a state income tax, definitely vote for Chris Bell. |

Russ,
I went to Chris Bell's web site and looked at all his proposals. I couldn't see anything about a state income tax. Do you have a link to where he said that. because I definitely don't want to pay state income tax

Chris Bell has said that he is against a state income tax. Rick Perry said that he believes all non-Christians are condemned to Hell. See http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/110606dnTSWperry.351c57c.html . Since I tend to oppose candidates who say I'm going to Hell I will be voting for Chris Bell. Neil, I agree with your comments on how the government is run but there hasn't been a statewide Democratic officeholder since '96 so don't think you can blame the Democrats for that. Without a runoff, a vote for a third party candidate is a wasted vote. |

Lance,
The pastor at that church is "John Hagee".
This is the same guy that comes on TV every day and sees end of the world signs in every news event and every couple of month he decides that the world is going to end this month. I have always seen him as a con man trying to make money. I am shocked that our governor goes to his church. That's scary
