EVENT UPDATE:

Date Update:
The Greenville Avenue Area Business Association, who hosts the Annual Greenville Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade, has announced that the 2007 parade will be held on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th. It is typically held on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, so I had posted this event for March 10th. I have now updated the date on the event page. All information about the parade can be found on the GAABA website at http://www.greenvilleavenue.org.

Hey everyone,

Check out our city guide to the Greenville Ave St. Patrick's Day Parade. For those who have done it before, feel free to edit and improve upon the guide so others know what to expect:

Also, we have a St. Patrick's Day Guide too:

I have a question.  I'd like to go to the Greenville Parade event (I've never attended any YAP event, so I figured it was a good one to start with) but can I bring my boyfriend or other friends that aren't YAP members, or do they need to sign up?

EVENT UPDATE:

Ok all my little Leprechauns......is everyone ready for some green beer & A HUGE PARTY?????? This could very easily become the biggest number of attendees we've ever had for a YAP event!!!!!

If you don't plan on attending this event or you are planning on bringing more guests, please update your RSVP. I want to make sure we get enough beer to take care of everyone.

Jason has posted some really good parade resource information in the forum for this event. Take a look, if you've never been to the parade before.

Vital information that everyone coming down to the parade needs to know....so PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. If you have never been down to the parade with us before, go to the event page and click on the map link in the event description. It will take you to a satellite view of our exact location.

2. I can't stress this one enough. Parking is VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY limited down in this area on parade day. If you have the ability to ride the DART Rail, you'll be happy you did (even if you park at Mockingbird Station and ride up one stop to Lovers). If not, or you want to try and find a parking place, I suggest you get down here no later than 9:30am.

3. Not only does parking suck, traffic is even worse. If you are going to drive down (even to Mockingbird Station), you need to arrive no later than 10:30am, or you will probably miss the parade.

4. For $10 per person, you will get a wrist band, a souvenir cup and access to our private port o lets (1 for the girls and 1 for the boys). With the purchase of your wrist band and cup, we will provide you with all the beer you can drink. I've heard a rumor that a few people may be walking around selling jello shots 2/$1, but I can't confirm that.

5. If you don't like beer, or would rather not drink green beer....you are welcome to bring your own stuff (good luck keeping up with it). No glass will be allowed in the parking lot, so plan accordingly.

Sorry that this email is so long, but we have a LOT of new people coming for their first event. The parade party can be VERY hectic and I want to make sure everyone can find us and enjoy the day. If I've forgotten anything, I'll send out an update towards the end of the month.

EVENT UPDATE:

I've got an update from Russ on our specific location.

1.) We are exactly on the SW corner of Lovers and Greenville. Where the 2 sidewalks meet.

2.) We have 2 brown port-o-potties

3.) Russ is flying an orange University of Texas flag

4.) I will have an 8 1/2 x 11 YAP sign somewhere sitting in our area

See everyone at the Parade! I have new logo renditions done so those who want to give their opinion come see me.
