EVENT UPDATE:
Hey everyone,
I have enabled the payment feature for our YAP Party Barges. And wanted to let you know about an 'early bird special' for our Club Fred party barges for July 4th and the first 20 ppl are going to sell tix for discounted $25 instead of $30. So if you know u are going for sure, u can pay now and save $5.
As a reminder, we have the 100 person 70ft Catamaran along with the two 50 person connected Club Fred Party Barges for July 4th. There will be music, dancing, swimming, July 4th BBQ and a great party with a fantastic view of the fireworks show (we'll anchor right by where they launch).
Tell your friends and signup soon. We expect all our boats to sell out before the 4th.

What is the reason for the cost difference between the boats? Is the Cat going to have something more?

The differences are that the catamaran is a nicer boat and will have a DJ.
The catamaran has a crew, DJ, bar and bartender and is faster and can sail. There are tables, a water slide, bean bags, netting and other areas to hang out. It is open to the public so others can join and various other social groups and friends have been promoting it and will be joining us.
The party barges are simpler boats and we'll be playing a mix of party CDs.
You can see pictures from both boats on their websites linked to from the event.
So we have both options with two prices depending on which one you want.

EVENT UPDATE:
The early bird rate of $25 is still available for the two party barges. I'm offering it to the first 20 or so people who pay ahead of time which should go quickly now.
I wanted to give everyone who has signed up now advanced notice as I am going to send a special email to everyone on our Dallas/Fort Worth (7000+) email list later this evening. And the event is going to be going on multiple other social email lists soon as well. And the event is near the top of all Internet searches, and this is the time ppl start googling for things to do for the 4th. So the early bird spots should fill up quickly.
Our 2003 July 4th Lake Party still ranks as my #1 favorite YAP event of all time. It is just a lot of fun partying on the lake with the fireworks show right there.
Also note, the Catamaran is going to start filling up too as it is an open to the public event, and I know of at least one group getting a bunch of tickets for it (20+).

Are all the boats going to be together were we go from boat to boat, or do we all have to stay on the boat we come on?

You'll have to stay on your boat. We're going to try to get both boats as close as possible so we can hang out together in the water though.

Hopefully I'm not the only one wondering this....
What does the $25 include? I'm sure a portion of it goes to boat rental, but will there also be food? Just snacks (chips, etc.) or something more substantial?
What about drinks? Is it just beer & wine included?
What if you don't want to drink beer & wine? Can you bring a cooler with your own alcohol?

I realized I was not specific or clear enough on the event so I have updated it.
The July 4th BBQ provided is the same on both boats: Hamburgers and Hot Dogs (with fixings), Veggie Burgers, Potato Chips & Veggie Chips, Vegetable and Fruit Trays and Cookies. We'll also have sodas, water and ice.
Both boats are BYOB. You can bring anything you like. Since we're on the lake, cans are preferred over bottles. We'll have cups if you bring bottles.

EVENT UPDATE:
Wanted to give an update that we have changed to only one party barge (50ppl) now instead of the two connected (100ppl).
200ppl was a bit much to fill for us this year in YAP (previous years we could have done it) even though we're on the top of all July 4th searches. And I didn't want to count on a lot of last minute ppl this year that we usually get in the past.
So the party barge is still going to be a great party and a good value at $25. But if you want to switch boats to the catamaran instead now, let me know (send a msg to me via YAP) and I can arrange for you to pay for the catamaran and get a refund on the party barge. We are expecting 50+ on the catamaran probably around 70-100 from what the staff at BigDCats guesses from previous trips.
And we fully expect the party barge to sell out now. I sent out a big email and got a few more ppl this morning already. I will update the number of paid later tonight or tomorrow. The last 10 or so spots I am going to sell at $30, so if you are still planning on going, pay now to
1.) ensure you get a spot on the party barge 2.) get the $25 special rate
Or, the catamaran is still a great party and a good option also that I recommend. It is a fantastic boat and a great experience and the bigger party now. It is the more higher end and nicer boat and choice.

FIRST UPDATE ON HOW TO FIND US -------------------------------------------------------- PLAN TO ARRIVE AT THE PIER BY 6:45PM AT THE LATEST!!!!
I have put a lot of details on how to find the group on the event. Please read them carefully. We will be meeting at 6pm to preparty at Charlie's Restaurant & Bar right there on the Pier. I HIGHLY recommend everyone plan on arriving then to meet people and to allow for time to park and walk or if you get lost.
Also, please note ****THE PARTY BARGE IS PICKING UP AT CHARLIE'S RESTAURANT AND NOT JUST FOR FUN***
DO NOT GO TO JUST FOR FUN IN THE PARK. GOTO PIER 121 MARINA AND CHARLIE'S WHERE THE CATAMARAN WILL MEET US.
My mobile number is 972-679-9818. Only call if you have a real problem (such as running late or you are lost) as my phone will be ringing off the hook that evening. Do not call for directions ahead of time. Print out a detailed copy of the directions with you so you can find us.
We will be at http://www.pier121marina.com/

Know its BYOB...can you bring a cooler on the boat??

Jason K Carrollton, TX Posts: 8124 Events: 218

Yes. It is preferred and recommended for ppl to bring their own coolers with their own ice. Getting ice on the Fourth is not easy.
