I (Lance) will be there with Random Acts of Kindness Volunteer Meetup group. Most of the Random Acts members will be working with arts and crafts although I'll probably help with the horses or hay rides. Lance When: Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 8:30 AM Where: Circle R Ranch 5901 Cross Timbers Rd. Flower Mound, TX 75022 (817)430-1561 Join the LOVE FOR KIDS Board of Directors and approximately 700 volunteers at the largest Children's Christmas Party in the State for disadvantaged children. LFK is expecting 3,500 kids between the ages of 6 to 12! (Groups of children attend by invitation only.) The Dallas and Fort Worth Margarita Societies collected hundreds of toys for disadvantaged children at their respective Margarita Balls. Each held a toy sorting event, and the next stage in this project is 33rd ANNUAL LOVE FOR KIDS CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY in Flower Mound. They need adult volunteers, or high school juniors and seniors, to assist with the following: serving hot dogs and cold drinks, horseback riding, carnival games, bubble bounce, arts & crafts, face painting, sand art, arena games, stage entertainment, security, hay rides, basketball, clean up, and more. (For those who want to stay with Random Acts, many of us will do the arts and crafts together.) VOLUNTEERS: Please check in @ the Volunteer Tent between 8:30-9:00 AM. (NOTE: Volunteers must check in by this time in order to get cars off the two lane road. The buses start backing up on the road by 9:30 AM. We ask our volunteers NOT to bring their young children.) Dress warm and comfortable: jeans, tennis shoes/boots, coats, gloves. Coffee and rolls served for all volunteers. The party will be held regardless of the weather. Volunteers are invited to the free volunteer lunch with soft drinks, beer, & appreciation after the kids depart. Additionally, LFK has an opportunity to raise funds by recycling used cell phones and ink jet printer cartridges. This effort is made possible through EcoPhone whose commitment is to pay Love For Kids $1 to $200 for each cell phone collected and $1 to $5 for each ink jet cartridge collected. This program benefits Love For Kids, the environment, individuals, and companies alike. If you would like to DONATE USED CELL PHONES OR INK JET CARTRIDGES, please bring them over to the Christmas Party. Let's enrich the quality of life for the young and young at heart who are in need of benevolent services.

This was a great event, I suggest anyone interested in volunteering to consider this event next year... I also think they have an event in the spring as well that should be quite fun!
