EVENT UPDATE:
Is everyone ready for a fun day down at the St Patty's Day Parade Party? We are going to be in the parking lot at the SW corner of Greenville Ave and Lovers Ln. It is right next to CVS and across the street from Central Market. We are hoping to have a pop up tent with YAP signs on it, so everyone can find us in the parking lot.
We aren't going to allow vehicles in the parking lot, so that we have plenty of room for our group. Please take the DART train, park across the street at Central Market or park at Mockingbird Station and take a cab up to Lovers Lane. If you plan to park within walking distance of our gathering area, I HIGHLY suggest that you arrive in the area no later than 9:30am, otherwise, you won't find a parking spot.
The current weather forcast calls for sunny skies and a high of 71. Be sure to dress up in your best green outfit and remember to bring sun block, sun glasses, a hat and a chair.
We have been in contact with both the Dallas Police Department and TABC. Neither entity will be enforcing the open container law, so we are in good shape there. TABC will definitely have some undercover agents in the area. We were told that as long as people were having a good time, not causing any problems, being belligerent or peeing in the bushes, they are going to leave everyone alone. Be a responsible adult and none of us will have any problems.
YAP will have some beer available to its membership in the front of this parking lot. When it runs out, it runs out and we don't know when that will be. It might be a good idea to bring along your own stash, if you want to quench your thirst later in the day.
There is going to be another group in the back of the parking lot that is furnishing toilets, souvenir cups and Gatorade, some shade and a DJ for the whole morning. There may be a cost associated with this area, so you'll have to check with them at the event.
