A friend/YAP member has an apartment off of Memorial & says that they shoot fireworks off in that area.

Other than that, I am still new, so I have no idea???

The Boyfriend has to work, so I'm looking for ideas/suggestions as well!

there's the BP thing downtown but that's too insanely crowded.... and if you sit out in the fields at 2nd baptist you can see fireworks... and i used to go down to my mom's (she lives off west gray) and walk up to waugh to watch the fireworks downtown... I live right off Memorial too, but I can't see anything from my apartment complex.... last year I missed EVERYTHING (I completely forgot it was the 4th of July and was doing laundry when I heard the fireworks)... so i'm just really looking for any option right now....

I'll be in D.C. visiting the folks, but I'll be able to catch the fireworks display over the Potomac.

the east coast is great this time of year but i'd love to do something just a bit closer to home... maybe i'll spend the day sneaking into movies at the theater.... Haven't done that in awhile...lol.

I'm thinking I might do the Miller Outdoor theater thing.... Its something different... And if the weather's nice it should be a great night.... Plus the symphony's playing....

I've done the Miller Outdoor theater thing on the 4th a few times (a long time ago though). It was great, we'd bring a blanket to sit on, pack a picnic with tons of food/drinks, and enjoy the concert/fireworks. It does get crowded, so it's definitely a 'get there early' kind of thing.

Get there early.... Yeah that's probably not gonna be doable since I have a going away party in Stafford going on that afternoon... I guess fireworks on Waugh again it is. Ah well.
