Medical Billing & Coding Position in the Plano, D/FW area. Must have knowledge of CPT4, ICD9 coding and insurance plans such as Medicare, BCBS, HMOs, PPOs, Workers Compensation, and Commercial accounts.
Position Responsibilities:
• Responsible for medical billing, follow up and execution of denials and appeals.
• Accountable for data entry and AR analysis; payer discrepancies 7 denial management.
• Review assigned Billing queue, daily, for claims not processing for missing billing information. Make needed corrections for claim process.
• Review assigned collections queue for claims not paid or having been flagged for additional follow-up.
• To review printed claims for assigned insurance for errors or programming problems. Institute work-order and any necessary research to have problem corrected.
• Maintain Medicare proration rules in billing system.
• Assist in maintaining HART Processes for: insurance billing; new account types; biller and collector assignments.
• Maintain strict client and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Research insurance/Medicare/Medicaid non-payment to include telephone, e-mail, written correspondence and/or fax to the payer/patient as needed for reimbursement (must be compliant with HIPAA regulations).

Experience and Education:
• 3 - 5 years in medical billing & coding experience – coding certification preferred
• Knowledge of CPT4 and ICD9 coding required
• Medicare, BCBS, HMOs, PPOs, Workers Compensation, and Commercial accounts knowledge is a must
• Bachelor degree with an emphasis on healthcare administration experience or the equivalent of]
• Masters degree preferred but not required
Pay: Hourly Contract to Start/Commission/Based on Experience
