I missed the last one cause I had to work. Now I'm itching for a trip. Any thoughts? Some place this summer or maybe wait until the fall when it cools down?

Anyone interested in a camping weekend somewhere and get a cabin? A share of a cabin runs between $20-$30 per person per night usually. Of course, tenting is usually always less than $10. I was thinking Possum Kingdom lake. Or maybe this fall we can head to Beaver's Bend OK again.

Broken Bow, OK is also VERY nice (especially if you want to stay in a cabin).  They have lots of horse trails, canoeing and hiking.

I'm thinking of planning a return trip to Broken Bow/Beavers Bend. I want to do it over a 3 day weekend. I think we'll make it a regular Easter Weekend trip as we've done in the past.

How does Possum Kingdom Lake compare to Beaver's Bend?

Beavers Bend is so awesome.  Ive been several times with family and friends.  Awesome river running by the park and I think there's a lake up from the river.  Cool area for fishing, camping, canoeing.

Any idea as to when that will happen?

I am probably for sure going to do this next spring probably over easter weekend again. We'll get cabins with places to camp by them.

We did consider doing it in August with the DJCC but it was just a bad time for us and our schedule got full.

Yup, I do, especially as it cools down.  I went camping/hiking in Arkansas in May.  It was WONDERFUL.  On top of a mountain, $5 a camp site with water and a potty, $60 cabins with running water and full baths...

I'd be happy to go camping anytime this fall.

Yeah. Do Beaver's Bend and I can bring my ATV again.

Also, for those who are a little more ~ehem~ ..."urban", I was thinking it might be cool to do a camping trip at Hidden Cove in The Colony, right on Lake Lewisville. It's a nice campground and very close for those who might prefer to run home and shower in the mornings.
