I'm a sociologist doing research for a book on American character, and I am wondering if you might be willing to help me simply by allowing me to interview you about your life and views on various issues and ideas.

More specifically, in June and July this summer I am looking to conduct interviews with American professionals born in 1975 to 1980 who currently live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I am interested in how individuals in this group see themselves, make sense of public issues, and connect with the world around them.

You must be a U.S. citizen. While you need not have been born in the United States, you must have moved to the U.S. before the age of five, and lived most of your life in the U.S.

The study itself would proceed as follows: I start with some questions over email to ensure you qualify for this study. These questions should take no more than ten minutes to answer. If you qualify, we then schedule a face-to-face interview at our mutual convenience. The interview typically lasts about two hours.

Your participation in the interview is, of course, strictly voluntary, and while I cannot afford to pay you, this study should help advance our understanding of the nature of American character and its implications for American society. Plus, such an interview can be a really interesting opportunity for you to reflect on your life for more time than we usually allow ourselves.

If you are willing to help me, and/or know others who might, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
