I contacted Mountain Breeze today to make a reservation and they told me they were completely booked.  I contacted Russ and he suggested I call back and see if that was because of YAP.  The lady said she never heard of YAP and didn’t know they were coming. She said at best we would have overflow.  I contacted a few other campsites and they have groups booked.  So I am wondering why Mountain Breeze doesn’t know we are coming?  Should we book a location at a different campground?  The overflow is close to the street and far from the bathrooms.  I know Mountain Breeze is where we always go and its fine but if they aren’t willing to accommodate such a big group and other campsites are??????  (I spoke with Gordos and they told me they have 3 big groups and no money down) Not trying to be difficult but wouldn’t mind electricity for the campsite maybe even river.  I know the volleyball court if fun and all but....Anyway I think I might stay at another campsite and just come over to ride the river with ya'll unless you might want to try another campsite that actually has some spots avail?????? Again not trying to be difficult so dont kill me!  LOL  I am willing to do the leg work if you want.

http://www.lazylandl.com/map.html  This place has 20 campsites together which will hold at least 2 tents at each site.  They have electric and water for each campsite.  They have a volleyball court.  I was told they would be willing to reserve the 20 campsites for us.  They have just about everything I could see that Mountain Breeze offers.
Just my humble suggestion.

Gang,

We are going to try a new campground this year.  Lazy L & L.  They have all of the same amenities that we’ve had at Mountain Breeze, plus a few extras.  Each reserved site has electric, water, picnic table, fire ring and grill.  The campground has a volleyball court, horseshoe pits and washer pits.  There is an onsite snack bar, with breakfast tacos.  They also allow you to use your own float equipment and charge a shuttle fee.

They are holding sites 72-100 for us until 6/10.  If you want a site with water/electric, please call and reserve your site before 6/10.  After that, they will release them to the general public.  They do have overflow camping right next to our reserved spots, but those don’t have electric/water.  Reserved campsites can hold up to 3 cars and 3 tents.  (830) 964-3455 and ask for Laverne.  Tell her you are with the YAP group.

I have reserved 93/94.  Andrea has reserved 91. April has reserved 95/96

Costs are as follows:

Reserved Campsites - $35/nt first car, includes 2 people.  This is paid at time of reservation.  Additional people in that car at $5/nt.  Additional cars on a reserved site are $25/nt, includes 2 people.  Additional people in these cars are $5/nt.

Overflow Campsites - $25/nt, includes 2 people.  Additional people in the are $5/nt.

Tube Rental - $10 per tube, per day.

Shuttle Fee - $8 per person, if you use your own equipment.

EVENT UPDATE:

Please note that the location has changed for the 2009 Tubing Year!!

We will be going to the Lazy L & L Campground!!! :-)

We have campsites 72-100 pre-reserved for our group, but you MUST CALL & RSVP by 6/10/09 in order to reserve your site! Reserves sites include electric, water, a picnic table, firepit, and grill per campsite. 3 vehicles are allowed per reserved campsite, so group up and save some $$$! Those without reservations or a group to share a reserved site are still welcome and can camp on the overflow sites which are right next to our reserved section.

Not only is the camping cheaper, but so is the tubing AND there will be no issues if you decide to bring your own personal gear! If you bring your own tube/etc, all they ask is for a small shuttle fee.

Please check the website for further updates on pricing, location, and making your reservation!

See you on the river!

I floated the river over Memorial day weekend and it was a little low, so make sure you have good river shoes.  They are dealing with a big drought this season. Still a good time though. :)

I can't make the trip this year but definitly follow the rules of - No Glass or foam.  I was also told the jello shot containers was on the "no fly" list. :(   They had cops wading in the water checking EVERY cooler and writing tickets.

Have a great time everyone! Be safe.

It usually depends what part of the river you're in.  Where we float we are out of the city limits, so those restrictions don't typically apply.  Thanks for the heads up though, we'll be careful to watch for them :-)

I mentioned this in my RSVP on the attendees page, but wanted to cover it here too. Our group of 3 will only be staying Friday night but due to the 2 night minimum on weekends we had to reserve Fri & Sat. So... if anyone is coming Sat morning to raft and just staying Sat night let me know and you can take over our site (#98). Thanks!
