I am really into performing arts: Texas Ballet, the Dallas Theater, Shakespeare in the Park, and SMU Meadows Dance. I attend a lot of theater productions, several every month-kinda got into it and went overboard. I've driven to the Bass Performance Hall in Downtown Fort Worth, the Majestic in Downtown Dallas, and Music Hall at Fair Park...from Frisco which is very North, very East. Anyways, I am looking for people to go with me to the plays, operas, ballets, musicals & dance concerts. There's almost something going on every weekend.

COMPLEXIONS CONTEMPORARY BALLET (FEATURING DESMOND RICHARDSON)
Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
Overflowing with power and speed, Complexions embraces diversity with 16 dancers of different ethnic and dance backgrounds as well as with its range of dazzling work encompassing everything from big, dynamic ensembles to poignant duets and solos. Complexions was founded by Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden, two former stars with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. The New York Times has called Richardson "one of the great modern dancers of our time," and Rhoden "one of the most sought-out choreographers of the day.” Complexions will make its AT&T Performing Arts Center debut with a spellbinding program that merges ballet, contemporary dance, jazz and hip-hop into one thrilling experience.

BILL T. JONES/ARNIE ZANE DANCE COMPANY
Serenade/The Proposition
Friday, January 8 and Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.
The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company is currently celebrating its 25th Anniversary season. The Company was founded after 11 years of collaboration during which Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane (1948 - 1988) redefined the duet form and foreshadowed issues of identity, form and social commentary that would change the face of American dance. The company will perform Serenade/The Proposition, a lively, colorful rumination on the nature of history, and the first work in Jones’ choreography celebrating Abraham Lincoln. Video projections fill an iconic set of movable columns that evoke the architecture of history: the White House, the Parthenon, or the ballroom of an elegant plantation parlor. The spare staging is filled by a cast of fierce dancers in beautifully deconstructed costumes performing flowing movement that assembles into moments of still portrait-like postcards from the past. The original score draws from Mozart’s Requiem, Battle Hymn of the Republic and Dixie to create a contemporary, playful musical collage for cello, piano and soprano. Bill T. Jones, a MacArthur “Genius” Award Recipient, is considered one of the world’s most important and influential choreographers. Always thought provoking, this evening promises to be a highlight of the TITAS season.

DOMINIC WALSH DANCE COMPANY
Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.
Dominic Walsh Dance Company, considered a “Rising Star” company, comes to the TITAS season for the first time. A former Houston Ballet dancer, Dominic Walsh has attracted some of the world’s most promising artists. His reputation for the highest standards in performance, choreography and technique, along with his spirit of exploration have earned this young company national and international accolades. The company is comprised of six to eight individually unique, classically-trained dancers from Italy, Chile, Germany, Miami, Chicago and Houston. They will perform their critically acclaimed contemporary ballet set to the works of Mozart, as well as White Swan from the famed Matthew Bourne Swan Lake.

MARK MORRIS DANCE COMPANY
Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.
Based in Brooklyn, New York, the Mark Morris Dance Company has been touring internationally for nearly 30 years. MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient Mark Morris is considered one of the world’s most important choreographers. Performing only to live music, the Mark Morris Dance Group is one of the most renowned dance companies in the world. For the 2009-2010 TITAS season, the company will perform one of Mark Morris’ masterworks, V, a piece created in response to 9/11.

Thanks,
Kathy
