Join us as we head back to the Museum of Natural Science for their final Mixers and Elixirs for the season!

The band for this event is 'Grupo Ka-Che', a hot local Houston salsa band. The dinosaur exhibit turns into a social area/dance floor and a big social scene. (Be sure to bring your camera!

)

Total cost for entry is $12 with the group discount coupon ($15 otherwise), and it includes food (buffet-style) and entry to the museum itself, which you are free to explore.

Mixers and Elixers is a ton of fun, averaging nearly 1100 people per party! Don't worry, if this is your first YAP event and you haven't been here before. We learned from past experiences about where the best place for the group to 'find itself' is.

Once Mixers and Elixirs ends (around 10 PM), just meet up in the lobby by whatever chairs and couches the Museum has set up. That way, we can have an idea of how many people are coming for the after party and leave as a group. This’ll make it easier finding people afterwards. The after-party will be at Baker Street (2400 University Blvd in the Village Arcade), near Rice University. It’s in the Village Arcade, which has a parking garage. So, there should be plenty of parking, and you can get your parking validated inside the bar. (You’ll need to use both the original ticket and the validation when you leave.) They serve food, drinks, and often have live music.

How to Find the Group

We will meet every hour at the top of the hour on the 2nd floor closest to the lookover that is right above the band (just like last time). Just look for the group of happy, fun-loving people, and introduce yourself. April was kind enough to pick up small American Flag stickers that are large enough to be noticed but subtle enough not to be obnoxious (less than 1 inch long). (Thanks, April!) We’ll be handing these out for everybody to wear and help people find the YAP members. Prior to the event, I will be near the bar in the lobby along with any other early-comers. Sometimes, the main doors don’t open to the event right at 6. If that’s the case, we’ll first meet on the balcony at 7 like last time. Use the extra time to raid the buffet and bars.
