Texas Renaissance Festival

Welcome to the Texas Renaissance Festival

If you live in Texas (or are just visiting) and haven't had a chance to go, then you're missing out.
We're giving you a great opportunity to go with a terrific group of new friends!  Join us!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is not some rinky dink event put together by your homeowner's association featuring "jousting" by Uncle Ned, wearing cardboard "armor" and whacking a beehive with a "sword" (which is a wiffle ball bat coated in silver tape).  (Man, that screwy Uncle Ned...)
There are plenty of shops owned by true artisans, a wide variety of food and drinks available, wine tasting events, shows with juggling, animals, comedy, mud eating (yes...mud eating), and even a man who will insult your friends in public for money.  You can try to dunk foul mouthed wenches and throw tomatoes a bearded guy in stocks as they all mock your coordination.
Sound like fun?  You know it does!  (Don't deny it.)
Come along and don't forget your camera!
People don't judge at these things and it's all in good fun.  (Believe me, I know from past experience of being a little 'not so reserved' at past events.)  So, if you have a costume and wish to dress up, feel free to do so.  (However, if you wear a Star Wars costume or dress as Hello Kitty, be prepared to be ridiculed and mocked all day long.)
You can buy discount tickets at Randalls and other locations mentioned on the official Texas Renaissance Festival website (listed in the event's link on the right).  So, take a look and save that money for a big turkey leg!
Okay, here's the plan:  We'll meet at my home in Midtown (105 Dennis St, 77006) to carpool, because it's centrally located.  Plus, the route off I-45 then heading West is one of the less congested routes to go.  April and I have already volunteered to drive, but if more people RSVP we may need an additional volunteer or two.  (I'll post directions once I come up with them.)
Here is the link to my address:
It's best to leave early, as traffic does get bad in the area and to take full advantage of the festival.  So, we will depart at 8 AM (yes, in the MORNING) to make this less stressfull for the driver(s). :)  We do understand that not everybody likes to get up early on Saturday.  So, if you wish to come later on your own, let us know and we will arrange to meet you up front after you arrive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If we get enough interest, we might be able to get a group rate and save money for all!
If you have ideas or would like to volunteer to drive, please post this in the forum.  Thank you.

How to Find the Group

The group will depart from my place at 8 AM. If you wish to go later, contact me on my phone and we'll meet up with you after you arrive.
