Children's Charity Ball + Trip to Dallas
Margarita Ball is a HUGE event bringing over 10,000 people together to support the children's charity!
*** It is QUITE the party every year! ***
This is personally my 4th year and it's a must not miss event every year!
This is not a YAP official event. It is hosted by the Dallas Margarita Society (www.dallasmargaritasociety.com).
Entry is by invitation only. I have several invitations, so if you are interested, please let me know. Entry into the ball requires a toy valued at $20 or more (as the margaritas are free, you'll more than cover the toy value in free margaritas!). As people enter, the 'toy area' fills to this massive mound filling up several rooms with toys for children!!
DRESS:
THE BALL IS A FORMAL EVENT. BLACK TIE ATTIRE IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED.
For Gentlemen - a tuxedo is PREFERRED or, at a minimum, a dark suit and tie are acceptable. Because of the formal nature of the Ball, guests with open collared shirts without a tie, “Texas Tuxedos” (tuxedo top and jeans), any denim, and/or hats will NOT be admitted. This policy will be strictly enforced throughout the entire evening. For Ladies – evening gowns can be long or short. Sequins are definitely appropriate. This is one of those rare times where you cannot be overdressed.
The LAYOUT:
Foyer - guests will be amazed to see the mountain of toys accumulate
in the Toy Collection Area & world famous artist David Garibaldi
will be painting original pieces to be auctioned.
Main Ballroom - live music, dancefloor, and margarita fountains
1st Floor - Dance club and margarita fountains
2nd Floor - entertainment, casino, and raffle

Sky-Bridge Entry - Nuevo flamenco sounds of the Russ Hewitt Band
1st Floor - Mischieve Lounge with DJ Presto One & DJ Dave
2nd Floor - The Wonders
Main Ballroom - The Klocks
DRINKS:
FREE MARGARITAS - The DMS tradition continues, as our guests will find our signature Margarita Fountains, featuring long-time corporate sponsor SAUZA Tequila, flowing with sumptuous libation throughout the evening in the Main Ballroom and First Floor Ballroom.
HOTEL:
All attendees are requested to stay at the hotel or nearby hotel Saturday night. As the party goes until 2am with after parties continuing on through most of the morning, it is encouraged to stay. Even those living nearby stay overnight at the hotel. Most of us share a room, so it only ends up costing about $20/person which is MUCH cheaper than a DUI or public intox! :-) DMS has worked a special price with the hotel for $120/night.

TRAVEL TO DALLAS:
I will be leaving here on Friday to stay the night in Dallas (If you come in with me on Friday night, I can probably find somewhere for you to stay to avoid a hotel fee). Anyone wanting to ride with me is more than welcome to do so. I typically go out with friends on Friday in Dallas and then Saturday do the girly stuff (hair, makeup, nails) while the guys usually watch a game or tour Dallas. We will meet up at the hotel around 4pm (if you want to drive up Saturday) and start getting ready at the hotel at that time (usually while we down some pizza!). Pre-parties start at 5pm. It is HIGHLY suggested that you arrive early (4-5pm). The BALL starts at 7pm, but if you wait until then, you will be parking miles away and taking a cab to the hotel just to get in.

How to Find the GroupThis is not an official YAP event so there will be no specific place for us to meet during the ball. As we will be traveling, I will provide my phone # and room # to those traveling with us. Pre-party starts at 5p and will move to other preparties at 6p with the YAP Dallas group! Ball starts at 7:30p and we typically walk down together. You can stay with the group or venture on your own. |
