The Tavern on Gray Review by Josh B
 | The "Fun" Bar

The Tavern on Gray has a really unique layout for most bars I've seen. Its bar is literally one of the longest in Texas and stretches all the way around the building with very few breaks. On a busy night they usually run with 6 bartenders on the inside and maybe 2 on the outside. I think of the Tavern as a "fun" bar because there is just so much to do... They have darts, pool, trivia, karaoke (on Tuesdays), ping pong, and TV's EVERYWHERE. There is not a bad seat in the house if you are there to watch a big game. They have a decent happy hour, a large variety of draft (25) and bottled beer, and their grill is open late. The wait staff could be better but when you see how big this place is you can sympathize with them to an extent. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and have various specials going on every day of the week (example: Tuesdays/Karaoke, Wednesday/Steak Night) The place can get pretty noisy on the weekends and big game nights but what do you expect. I think the Tavern is a great place to go with friends and have fun, but if you are looking for that laid back atmosphere, its probably not the spot.
