Cause for Alarm!

The American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City is planning to conduct a Cause for Alarm! singles event July 11, 2009 in the Midtown area. 

We need volunteers to canvass an impoverished Kansas City neighborhood to hand out smoke alarms, batteries and fire safety information. A typical Cause for Alarm! event might cover about 600 - 1,000 houses and use about 30 to 40 volunteers.

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
