Description
Pretty hipsters - their faces fresh, coiffures polished and jeans tapered - idle about the two rooms of The Annex on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The upstairs features parties and live shows most nights of the week with bands usually announced on the fly. A black and tight hallway, not unlike the clothing of those passing through, leads to a mahogany-paneled tavern where service is friendly and drinks reasonably priced. The entrance on Orchard Street is a bit nondescript (look for the black tiled wall, more sauna than dive bar). From Dark Room cofounder Jason Baron, The Annex hosts a late crowd and crisp, loud music.
