Wow. Carlos Beltran. Based loaded. Two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Down by two. If it was CB in 2004 when he was crazy hot with the Astros in the playoffs that would have been a grand slam win. Instead, 3 strikes and an out.
Put I'm glad. I like LaRussa. He managed and got the win. LaRussa would have pulled his star hitter Floyd for someone to drop a bunt instead. In the rain I thought that would be a no brainer. Play for the tie.
But the two teams I wanted are in. It's easy cheering against New York teams with high payrolls.

i was broken hearted because i'm a mets fan. but that was some insane curveball that just froze beltran. its going to be a tough off season for that dude. but on a plus side, that game featured what probably is the greatest catch ever made by an outfielder when Chavez robbed rolen of a dinger. |
