Hello all - I'm looking to plan some charity events for next spring and would love to hear from anyone/everyone who has experience with the same. I've never organized any fund-raising events, but have been thinking lately that starting a non-profit is something I'd like to do. I'm looking for advice from people who have applied for (and received) grants, aid, etc, or those who volunteer and/or work for a non-profit. My ideas thus far include a golf outing, a music festival, and a ballroom gala, among others - but those just indicate the varied range of events I'm looking into. I don't necessarily have one particular cause to devote to, but I'd rather have each event raise awareness/funds for various entities. Please feel free to post here, so message me directly.

Diggin.. the golf outing, a music festival, and a ballroom gala, ideas. I'm up for helping out anyway I can, once we get it rolling. Great idea!
