A meteorite has landed in the Hillsboro area, releasing a deadly gas that has infected thousands of residents. The United States military has commandeered the Washington County Fairgrounds as an emergency treatment facility, and hundreds of people flee for their lives as the alien chemical transforms their friends and family into blood thirsty zombie-like monstrosities.
This is the basic storyline for Bag&Baggage Productions’ latest creation: The Fields of Fear.
This October, Hillsboro’s only professional theatre company is partnering with the Washington County Fairgrounds to present an interactive outdoor Halloween performance that will take audience members throughout the fairgrounds complex in a 30 minute fright-fest. Scott Palmer, Bag&Baggage’s Artistic Director, said, “This is not you average Halloween haunted house event. This is a terrifying story that puts our audiences in a fight for their lives throughout the fairgrounds. It is going to be both really frightening and also a lot of good old fashioned Halloween fun.”
The event begins on Wednesday October 21
st and runs until Halloween night (no performances on October 25 – 27) from 8:00pm – 12:00midnight. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at
www.bagnbaggage.org or at the main gate of the Washington County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro each performance evening.
