I'm relatively new to YAP, but I was just wondering, are there any guys (or gals) who love boxing? I ask because there's a huge fight coming up on May 5th in Las Vegas with Floyd Mayweather (37-0, 24 KOs) vs. Oscar De La Hoya (38-4, 30 KOs; my personal favorite). This has been called the largest fight in four years since Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson. Not sure where we could do this, but it might be cool to get a watch party together. Just fishing right now...

It's funny that you posted this because Saturday May 5th happens to be guys night out. And I can't think of a better idea than to watch this fight. So let's find a place that has it and do it.

It's

It's at 8pm which should be perfect.

Also, it is Cinco de Mayo so the plan is afterwards to meet the ladies at some undertmined party in Dallas somewhere. I'm guessing we can get there by 10pm.

This is now the official "Guys Night Out where do we want to drink beer and watch the fight" thread. So I'm not sure which bars would carry the fight and which ones are best fgor viewing and which would be free and also which ones are close to whatever Cinco de Mayo Party we want to go to afterwards.

So post if you have ideas or recommendations.

AWESOME! I'll see if I can come up with any locations, but I live in the mid-cities so don't know the bars as well, those with plenty of big TVs. Should be an awesome fight! I haven't looked, but this may end up being a pay-per-view fight so that might limit us (not sure).

Another thought, if we're catching up with the girls about 10pm, my guess is that's about the time the fight would start. Typically there's an undercard match about 9pm and the main event about 10ish. Could be a quick fight, but I wouldn't bet on this one. Just FYI. It's beer either way.

You might consider Frankies Sports Bar in Uptown (McKinney & Hall).  They have a lot of TVs, although I've honestly never been there and the service didn't totally suck.  Isn't there a Champs Sports Bar up in Addison?

The Yucatan is also showing this fight, along with live cage fighting and women's oil wrestling.  This would truly be a "guy's night out", but if we go here, it would be the third YAP event here in two months.

Chris or Jason is the Young Active Professional GUYS NIGHT OUTS going out to the Yucatan Beach Club to watch the MMA Cage fights?  I am a huge fan of MMA.  Where can we buy tickets and who is promoting the show at the Yucatan Beach Club.

Contact info. please.
