To Host A Networking Event in
Sacramento, Benefiting A Local Bartender
SAN FRANCISCO – May 23, 2008 –
BiteClub.com, a nascent vertical social networking site, is garnering its online community to mix it up offline and contribute to a good cause.
BiteClub.com was created as a dedicated online platform for members of the restaurant and bar industry and culture to fuel camaraderie and to exchange personal and professional information. To celebrate their launch, BiteClub will host a service industry networking event
on Monday, June 9th.
"We are excited at the traction the site is currently experiencing," said Mayugba, CEO of
BiteClub.com. "It brings us pleasure to host a member networking event in our hometown region, and help a fellow bartender who is clearly in need."
This event, dubbed "6/9" for it's date, is an event to meet others in the industry, share some beverages, and hear some music. An proceeds raised benefit "Suzanne", a bartender who, while on vacation, slipped and broke her leg in two places. This tragic event happened 15 minutes after her long-time boyfriend popped "the" question. Four months later, her leg was not healing, leading to another four months of rehabilitation, rendering her unable to work. BiteClub member "Hank Da Tank" (a local bartender) rallied support and is donating all funds raised at the event via raffle and tips to help Suzanne pay her living expenses.
The event is guest list only. The only way to get on the guest list is by joining BiteClub, which is free, and just like "adding friends" on
MySpace, connecting with a BiteClub profile called 6/9. Attendees of the event will enjoy the return of famed DJ Shaun Slaughter, DJ Katz, and musical artist Jeffrey Valentine. Patron, which commands a whopping 75% of the premium tequila market, will be hosting shots from an ice sculpture. Finlandia Vodka and Tuaca Italian Liquer will be hosted, as well as the vast majority of the Miller Brewing portfolio. To cool down it down, Red Bull Slushies will be given. All the aforementioned drinks are free for BiteClub members at the event. From
9pm to Midnight. Dancing to the music will round out the night.
BiteClub.com, which launched in beta in May 2007, introduced an enhanced version during the Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show in
Las Vegas (Feb. 20, 2008).
