Y-FRIENDz is a one to one mentoring program of the YMCA of San Diego County. We work with kids ages 4-15 who have one or more parents incarcerated and match them with a caring adult mentor. Matches do things like work on homework, play sports, go to the library and museums, or just hang out. A couple times a month is all we ask, and we put on free monthly events for all participants- things like going horse back riding, baseball games, going to amusement parks.
Young professionals have a lot to give, and so many kids need a great role model and friend in their life.
